It can be easy to ignore emails and text messages from myGov, however we cannot stress enough just how crucial it is to pay attention to these alerts. These messages could contain vital information regarding outstanding lodgements or debts to the ATO.
Don't ignore myGov emails

Unfortunately with the rise of scams, we can easily become desensitised to emails mentioning an ‘important message’. It is also paramount you remain vigilant and check that the email delivering this important message is legitimate.

Somethings you can keep in mind when questioning the legitimacy of ‘”ATO” emails…

  • The ATO will never ask you to click a link within a myGov Alert Email
  • The ATO will never ask you to confirm personal information via an Email or Text Message
  • To be safe, always log into your myGov account directly via the app or their website
  • If all else fails – Always check with us if you are unsure
